At Event in a Tent, we always find it useful to take some time to review the past year and its events and 2022 was our busiest year yet completing over 140 events and building over 300 tents for weddings, parties and corporate events.
Festival Season
Every festival season is a new adventure for our team, and we were very excited to provide our 15m timber-framed dome stage, for the first time, in the Glade Area of the Glastonbury Festival. The circular base and natural feel of the structure fitted in perfectly amongst the trees and was well received by Glade area fans and artists.
Our dome stage was also a huge success at the biggest Boogietown Festival in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey as well as at long-standing festivals including Carfest and Gottwood festival. The dome at Carfest was used as a breakout area where people relaxed, ate and socialised whilst the dome at Gottwood was home to ‘Ricky’s Disco’ featuring incredible artists!!
Of course, our tipis always go down a storm at festivals and we had so much fun providing a long line of 7 tipis and 6 tipis to the Download festival as well as stretch tents and tipis at the El Dorado festival where they were used for VIP areas, bars, restaurants and artists areas. In fact, the main bar at El Dorado was housed in five large tipis joined together right in front of the main stage – a big build!!!
Brand New Quad Dome
2022 was also the official launch of our Quad Dome and we are proud to be the only UK supplier of this fantastic product. Available to hire, we have a 5x5m and 8x8m quad dome. So far, the 5x5m has been featured as a front of house hub at Arley Hall at JBM and the 8x8m has been well received as a great eye-catcher at trade shows.
Excitingly, Swift caravans were very happy to use our 8x8m product as a feature within their trade show launch. It housed a kitchen and encouraged interested people to enter, eat and discuss their products.
Weddings and Events
Evidently, our tipis and stretch tents were the most popular structures for weddings and every couple we worked with had their own unique sense of style – some going for the classic, chic look with warm lighting, round tables and beautiful centerpieces, while others went for a more rustic look with plenty of pampas grass, hay bales and fairy lights.
During the winter, we took part in some really fun events including the supply of a winter tipi at Winter Wonderland at Bolesworth Estate – this acted as a feature on the lights trail where people could stay warm and enjoy the winter sun views, we also supplied a tipi with our unique weighting system at Stockton-on-Tees town centre which housed plenty of activities for children as well as Santa!! And we also worked with the army barracks in Yorkshire to provide an amazing end of year party.
As we enter 2023, we have even more exciting plans and hope to increase our quad dome stock to include a 10m. We are having conversations with some really exciting new clients, and we can’t wait for what the year will bring! Stay tuned!!!
